Furthermore, the MDP pledged that under a future administration, it would reinstate every employee dismissed by the current government.

Former President and MDP Chairperson Mohamed Nasheed has stated that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu must realize he is instigating the beginning of a revolution. Nasheed warned that the Maldivian people will rise up in revolt and will fulfill all necessary obligations to defend their rights.
Speaking at the "Employment Thursday" protest held by the MDP on Thursday night, Nasheed stated that the Maldivian Democratic Party was founded to protect the rights of the Maldivian people. He emphasized that the party's objective and goal is to ensure prosperity for the citizens, adding that such prosperity is built upon the protection of their fundamental rights.
Nasheed stated that the Constitution guarantees all fundamental elements and protections for workers' rights to the Maldivian people, noting that these rights were secured through the hard work of citizens over many generations.
Describing the MDP as both a movement and an institution, Nasheed asserted that the party would not back down. He declared that the party would mobilize and, God willing, bring an end to the current administration. He further assured the Maldivian workforce that they would not be left to stand alone, pledging that the MDP would remain steadfast in its support for every family.

Thousands of people across Male' and various islands joined the "Employment Thursday" protest on Thursday night. The demonstration, spearheaded by the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), was organized to voice opposition against the dismissal of employees from various government institutions and state-owned enterprises.
Protesters voiced their demands for the reinstatement of employees they claim were unfairly dismissed and called for greater government accountability. Furthermore, the demonstrators called for the resignation of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and his administration.
During the protest, the MDP declared its unwavering commitment to advocating for the rights of all employees dismissed by President Muizzu’s administration. The party further assured that it would provide all necessary assistance to those affected. Additionally, the MDP pledged that under a future MDP government, employment would be reinstated for every individual who was unfairly dismissed by the current administration.
