Police to cooperate with MDP's major protest: MDP
The Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has secured assurances of cooperation from the police following discussions regarding a protest march scheduled to take place on Ameenee Magu tonight. The party stated that the demonstration, organized to protest recent job terminations, will proceed peacefully along a designated route with police assistance for road closures and security. MDP has urged the public to join the march, which is set to commence from the Rasfannu area.

The Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has stated that the police have assured their cooperation for the major protest scheduled by the party for Thursday night.
On Thursday morning, representatives from the MDP met with the police to discuss the upcoming mass protest.
Speaking to the media following the meeting, former Defense Minister Ameen Faisal stated that the police have pledged their assistance and cooperation for the upcoming protest. He further noted that the march would proceed along Ameenee Magu, and confirmed that the police would facilitate road closures and provide the necessary security for the event.
Furthermore, Ameen Faisal stated that the protest was proceeding according to the pre-approved route and emphasized that they would not enter the Green Zone or engage in any actions that could lead to unrest.
We met with the police regarding the protest being held by the MDP tonight. The demonstration is being organized to protest the unfair dismissal of employees from their jobs. During the meeting, we clearly outlined the route we intend to take and all other relevant details. The police were very cooperative and have granted us permission to proceed along Ameenee Magu as requested. The MDP protest is scheduled to begin this Thursday at 8:30 p.m. in the Rasfannu area. The party has called for as many citizens as possible to join the demonstration.
