Hanbo Company Denies Claims of Dissolution, Labels Reports as False
Hanbo Company has accused Advocacy Chambers of acting as a front for the convicted Hassan Mamdhooh in the K-Park fraud case, alleging that the law firm is behaving irresponsibly by misleading its clients about the facts. Hanbo emphasized that its legal existence is clearly established through judicial rulings and noted that the perpetrators of the fraud were only brought to justice following an investigation initiated by the company itself.

Hanbo Company Private Limited has condemned and refuted claims made by Advocacy Chambers law firm, which alleged that the company had vanished and that a request had been filed with the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) to locate it.
In a statement, Hanbo Company noted that although Advocacy Chambers claims to be acting on behalf of "K-Park victims," the law firm has yet to respond to an email sent in 2025 requesting clarification on which specific clients they represent and the submission of official documentation authorizing such legal representation.
The statement noted that Advocacy Chambers appears to be operating as a front for Hassan Mamdhooh, an individual who has caused significant losses to both the company and numerous private citizens. The statement further alleged that despite collecting legal fees years ago under the guise of representing victims, the law firm has failed to initiate any court proceedings. Instead, their actions have been limited to issuing press releases and sending letters to the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), which were subsequently leaked to the media.
Hanbo Company stated that the criminal charges brought against Hassan Mamdhooh and Jaishan Saeed originated from a case the company filed with the Maldives Police Service. The company further noted that judicial records confirm Hassan Mamdhooh has been sentenced to 390 years in prison, while Jaishan Saeed has been sentenced to 159 years in connection with the case.
The statement noted that the identity of the perpetrator has been established, and it has been legally proven that the fraud was committed by deceiving both the company and the general public.
The statement further noted that there is no reason for lawyers to be left in a state of uncertainty, repeatedly sending letters to various authorities simply because the identity of the party to be sued remains unclear.
The statement noted that several other law firms, besides Advocacy Chambers, have filed lawsuits in the Civil Court regarding matters related to K-Park. It further emphasized that there is no confusion or ambiguity regarding the parties involved in the litigation initiated by Advocacy Chambers, asserting that the current conduct of the legal counsel falls short of the professional responsibility expected of them.
The statement noted that since the foreign investment agreement was executed with the state by the company, and given that the company remains a legal entity with its legal standing affirmed by numerous judicial rulings, Hanbo is clearly the rightful party in this matter. It further asserted that the actions of Advocacy Chambers are viewed as an attempt to conceal the truth from their own clients.
The statement therefore urged legal practitioners to carry out their professional duties with responsibility and integrity.
