Mariyam Suha, President of the Baa Kamadhoo Women's Development Committee, has stated that the entire island is preparing for Eid al-Adha, with activities designed to include all residents.
Speaking on Wednesday's "Fashaairu" program, Suha highlighted that preparing for the Eid festivities is a massive undertaking involving the entire island community. She noted that rehearsals for the various sports and traditional dance performances have been underway for approximately three weeks.
Suha stated that although a special committee was formed to organize the Eid festivities, the entire island is effectively functioning as the Eid committee.
Currently, our Eid committee members, particularly the young women, are taking the lead in organizing the festivities. Everyone is actively involved in traditional activities like the *Badiyaa* dance; it is not just my effort alone. The entire designated team collaborates to choreograph the steps and manage the performances. That is how we generally operate. We initially began working on the promotional song last month. Despite having only a week, our team managed to choreograph the routines and finalize the arrangements. The group learns remarkably fast and they are truly talented. To be honest, these traditions have been ingrained in us since childhood. Because it is so deeply rooted in our culture, bringing these performances to life comes naturally to us.Mariyam Suha, President of the Women's Development Committee of B. Kamadhoo.

Suha stated that this year's Eid al-Adha is expected to be highly vibrant, ensuring that visitors will be captivated by the charm of Kamadhoo. She further noted that preparations for the festivities began well in advance, with residents paying special attention to the island's cleanliness and engaging in traditional activities such as spreading fresh white sand across the streets.
