B. Kamadhoo is 95 percent ready for the upcoming Eid al-Adha festivities, with over 2,000 visitors expected to arrive on the island for the celebrations, according to Council President Hassan Zareer.

Speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Fashaairu" program on Wednesday, Zareer stated that the island's residents have a long-standing tradition of working together in harmony. He highlighted that this community spirit is particularly evident during events such as Eid celebrations, where the cooperation among the people is exemplary.

Referring to the preparations for this year's Eid al-Adha, Zareer stated that 95 percent of the necessary work has been completed. He noted that the efforts are proceeding with great enthusiasm and energy. He further highlighted that the entire island is actively involved in the process, with the community working together in various organized teams.

Furthermore, Zareer stated that a large number of visitors are expected to travel to the island this year, similar to last year, with over 2,000 people anticipated to arrive for the Eid holidays alone.

I estimate that Kamadhoo will host approximately 2,000 overnight guests this Eid, taking into account the additional bed capacity added this year. Furthermore, we anticipate around 500 day-trippers visiting the island daily. These projections are based on the visitor statistics recorded during last year's festivities.

Zareer also spoke regarding the ongoing efforts to mitigate potential social issues.

In this regard, he stated that reminders and advisories will be issued continuously throughout the Eid festivities. He further noted that extensive measures are being organized to minimize potential issues and ensure the events proceed without incident.

Furthermore, Zareer noted that all residents are working collectively to keep the island clean. He added that a team of seven council employees is actively involved in these efforts, which include the collection of waste from households.

Zareer stated that Kamadhoo is making extensive preparations for Eid al-Adha and is ready to extend a warm and grand welcome to all visitors arriving on the island.

The Hawks Private Limited has signed on as the main sponsor for the grand Eid-al-Adha celebrations in Kamadhoo.
