Firefighters bring warehouse blaze near Galolhu Mortuary under control within an hour
The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) reported that a fire, first reported at approximately 10:45 a.m., was successfully brought under control and extinguished by 11:50 a.m. While authorities have yet to disclose the cause of the incident, no injuries have been reported.

Authorities have successfully brought under control a fire that broke out in a warehouse near the Galolhu Mortuary in Male', approximately one hour after the incident began.
The MNDF stated on Wednesday that the fire was reported at approximately 10:45 a.m. and was successfully brought under control and extinguished by 11:50 a.m.
The fire that broke out in a house located in Huvafenee Goalhi has been extinguished through the collaborative efforts of the police, Fire and Rescue Services, and members of the general public.
While the building sustained extensive damage in the incident, authorities worked to evacuate residents from neighboring households at the time.
Authorities have yet to disclose the cause of the fire. Furthermore, there have been no reports of any injuries resulting from the incident.
According to reports, the structure was a three-story building constructed primarily of timber. While the building was uninhabited, it was being utilized as a warehouse.
There has been a recent surge in the frequency of fire incidents.
A severe fire broke out in a residence in Hulhumale' on the afternoon of Tuesday, the 17th of this month, resulting in significant property damage. This follows a string of similar incidents, including a fire at Tower 5 of the Hiyaa Flats in Hulhumale' Phase II earlier in January. Furthermore, a fire erupted at a warehouse located on the ground floor of Lot 11154 in Chanbeylee Magu, Phase I, during the early hours of Saturday, January 31st. That incident necessitated the provision of emergency temporary housing for 25 individuals.
Furthermore, a devastating fire broke out at a foreign worker accommodation block in ADh. Dhigurah late Thursday night, October 12, claiming the lives of five individuals. Two others remain in critical condition and are currently receiving treatment on ventilator support.
