Fire breaks out on fishing vessel carrying 15 people
While the police are currently working to transport those injured in the incident to Male', the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has successfully brought the fire under control.

A fire has broken out on a fishing vessel carrying 15 people.
In a message to the media, the police stated that they received a report on Saturday regarding a fire breaking out on a fishing vessel near Kurumba Maldives resort. The authorities further confirmed that the incident was reported at 14:54 on Saturday afternoon.
Police are currently active at the scene following the incident. Authorities informed the media at approximately 03:30 AM that the injured individuals are being transported to Male' aboard a vessel from Kurumba Maldives.

Regarding the incident, the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) stated that the Hulhumale’ Fire Station, under the MNDF Male’ Area Command, is currently responding to a fire that broke out on a fishing vessel traveling near Dhoonidhoo.
An MNDF media official stated that while the fire has not been completely extinguished, it is now under control. Details regarding casualties, the extent of injuries, and the damage caused to the vessel and its cargo have yet to be confirmed.
