Severe fire breaks out in Hulhumale' apartment, kitchen destroyed beyond use
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has provided emergency food and temporary housing to a family following a severe kitchen fire at a One Avenue apartment in Hulhumale' on Friday night. While no injuries were reported in the incident, the authority is currently conducting an assessment to determine the full extent of the property damage.

The fire incident occurred on Friday night around 11:00 p.m.
Saturday The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) stated that the fire which broke out on the seventh floor of One Avenue on Friday night caused extensive damage to the apartment's kitchen. Consequently, the authority has provided the affected family with emergency food supplies and temporary housing assistance.
Photographs from the scene reveal extensive damage to the apartment's kitchen. The cabinetry has been charred, and the ceiling sustained significant structural damage.
No injuries have been reported in connection with this incident. However, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is currently working to assess the full extent of the property damage.
Hulhumale’ has seen a recent surge in fire incidents. Following a fire at Tower 5 of the Hiyaa Flats in Phase II during January, another major blaze broke out late Saturday night on January 31. The fire originated in a warehouse on the ground floor of Lot 11154, Chanbeylee Goalhi 5 in Phase I, resulting in 25 people being provided with emergency temporary housing.
