Husband of the elderly woman whose Covid-19 test results came back positive after her death, is also positive for Covid-19.
Covid-19 taskforce’s spokesperson, Mohamed Mabrook Aziz, confirmed this at Thursday night’s press conference at the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC).
While her husband is also positive for Covid-19, he is currently hospitalized.
Noting that he had breathing difficulties earlier on Thursday, Mabrook said that according to the latest information provided from Dharumavantha Hospital “he is now stable”.
Aminath Adam, 83, was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital on Wednesday evening. While she was rushed to the hospital following complaints of breathing difficulties, authorities have been accused of negligence in the case.
The building in which she was residing had been under monitoring since April 21, and Aminath had been identified as a direct contact of a confirmed Covid-19 case. However, her samples were taken early morning on April 28, despite being at high risk of infection due to her age as well as other health conditions.
