HPA's latest report had said that 35 patients are currently admitted to hospital

The Health Protection Agency (HPA)'s daily report for Monday has revealed a sixth H1N1 positive fatality, and 14 more patients positive for the strain.

The report further said that 45 more patients have been tested since Saturday, out of which fourteen had tested positive.

While Saturday’s report had placed the number of admitted patients at 31, its latest report had said that this figure is at 35.

HPA reported that a 29-year-old H1N1 positive patient died on Sunday.

In a letter released on Sunday, HPA said that the number of patients seeking consultation for flu-related symptoms has lowered, and expressly noted that the flu alert being at level three does not stipulate that schools should remain closed.

Further, after the Education Ministry’s decision to reconvene schools, the national committee on pandemics had on Monday announced its decision to once again suspend sessions despite the flu outbreak reportedly subsiding.

This decision was made given low student turnout in schools for both Sunday and Monday.
