Non-resident Ambassador of Indonesia pays farewell call to the President

The non-resident Ambassador of Indonesia, Harimawan Suyitno paid a farewell call on President Abdulla Yameen on Tuesday.

The call took place at the President’s Office on Tuesday morning.

During the call, President Yameen thanked the Ambassador “for the contributions made on his part to strengthen the diplomatic relations between Maldives and Indonesia.”

Noting that the government remained committed to the fortification of existing relations between both countries, the President expressed interest “in inviting the Indonesian corporate sector to the Maldives.”

Ambassador Suyinto highlighted on the mutual benefits accrued from establishing an Honorary Consul Office in the Maldives, and expressed his gratitude “for the cooperation and support extended from the government of Maldives during his tenure in Maldives.”

President Yameen also conveyed best wishes for the Ambassador’s next assignment.

President Yameen was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Asim and the Minister of State for Foreign Relations at the President’s Office, Mohamed Naseer.
