Education Ministry Replies “RaajjeTV Is a TV Channel, Right?” on Urgent Student Issues
The Ministry of Education has denied reports regarding the absence of a psychology teacher at the Centre for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) and allegations of students self-harming at a school in Hulhumale’. Despite the Ministry’s denial, parents maintain that these serious concerns have been formally brought to the authorities' attention.

The Ministry of Education has stated that it has not received any reports regarding parental concerns over disruptions to classes caused by a lack of psychology teachers at the Centre for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE). Furthermore, the Ministry noted it is unaware of allegations involving students at a school in the Greater Male' area engaging in self-harm or promoting activities contrary to Islamic principles.
When RaajjeTV’s "Fashaairu" program contacted the Ministry of Education to clarify details regarding these issues, a ministry official stated that no such matters had been reported to the institution. Furthermore, the official who answered the call questioned whether RaajjeTV was even a television channel and displayed a dismissive attitude while providing information.
Regarding the issues at CHSE, the Ministry stated that it has not received any complaints from parents regarding a shortage of teachers so far. The Ministry further noted that matters concerning school faculty are primarily handled by its Human Resources Department, which would have more detailed information on the situation.
Furthermore, the Ministry stated that it has received no information regarding reports of students at a school in Hulhumalé engaging in self-harm or activities that contravene Islamic principles.
Despite the Ministry's denial of these allegations, parents who spoke with RaajjeTV have emphasized the severity of the situation. According to the parents, the disruption of psychology classes at CHSE due to the lack of a teacher has been formally brought to the attention of both the school management and the Ministry of Education.
At the same time, parents have brought to the attention of relevant authorities a disturbing issue involving students at a school in Malé City engaging in self-harm and other dangerous behaviors. Parents have expressed deep concern over the Ministry's denial of these incidents, emphasizing that such serious matters must be addressed rather than dismissed.
Amidst a rising number of complaints regarding incidents that disrupt students' education and threaten their conduct and safety, the public is calling on relevant authorities to take responsible action to address these issues.
