Speaking on healthcare services, Rasheed noted that the government had pledged to import European-quality medicine, a commitment explicitly included in their manifesto. However, he pointed out that three years into their term, the government has failed to import medicine from Europe or Dubai as promised.
He stated that the government had previously been importing medicine through a Bangladeshi intermediary; however, that arrangement was suspended due to non-payment. Bonda further noted that while the government subsequently began sourcing medicine from an Indian company, those operations have also come to a halt because of outstanding payments.
