Over the past few months, the global conflict has led to a surge in fuel prices and significant logistical challenges in importing construction materials. These difficulties have impacted both state-owned enterprises and private companies alike, resulting in a slowdown of various development projects. However, by the grace of God, we are now seeing a gradual recovery. Moving forward, you will witness the pace of our work accelerating once again. Just today, following discussions within the Cabinet, we finalized the prioritization and scheduling of all ongoing and upcoming projects for the week ahead.President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu

President Muizzu stated that, moving forward, projects will proceed according to a prioritized schedule. He further noted that under this plan, development efforts will continue at an accelerated pace through 2028 by effectively managing cash flow and meeting debt obligations.
Currently, there are a total of 2,645 projects, including those already signed, new contracts scheduled for this year, and additional projects planned for next year to fulfill our pledges. We have now formulated a comprehensive execution plan for these 2,645 projects. This plan prioritizes which specific projects will be completed each month throughout the current year. It also outlines the types of projects slated for completion by 2027. This schedule is designed to manage our cash flow and debt obligations systematically, with the remaining projects scheduled for completion in 2028.President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu
President Muizzu’s remarks come at a time when numerous development projects have come to a standstill two and a half years into the current administration. Projects initiated during the previous administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih have also stalled under the current government. This issue has led to a decline in President Muizzu’s popularity, drawing significant public criticism toward the administration.
