President Muizzu should be ashamed to speak of paid narratives: Fayaz
Responding to the President's allegations that the opposition is spreading falsehoods for financial gain, Captain Fayaz (Papa) claimed that the government had instead attempted to buy his loyalty by offering him ministerial-level positions. He countered the President’s assertion that the country lacks a robust opposition by pointing out that the government’s recent electoral defeats are a direct result of opposition efforts. Furthermore, Fayaz emphasized that all opposition parties are currently working together in a responsible and unified manner to hold the government accountable.

Captain Ahmed Fayaz (Papa), the former commander of the MNDF Male’ Area, has strongly criticized President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s allegations that the opposition is funding the spread of misinformation.
Speaking on Raajje TV’s "TV Talk" program, Fayaz stated that President Muizzu should be ashamed to make such claims. Responding to the President's allegations, Fayaz posed several direct questions to him.
In this regard, he questioned how many individuals had been dispatched to "buy" him with offers of ministerial-level positions, further asking whether such discussions had not taken place at the Chickings outlet located across from the Velaanaage office complex.
President Muizzu stated in a recent press conference that the opposition is bribing media outlets to spread misinformation. However, I challenge President Muizzu to answer this: how many people did you send to "Papa" to buy him off? Did you not offer him a cabinet-level position? Did you not send Herins Alho? Was this discussion not held at Chickings, across from Velanage? Therefore, Dr. Muizzu should be ashamed to make such allegations now.Ahmed Fayaz (Papa)
Responding to the President's remarks claiming the absence of a robust political opposition in the Maldives, Fayaz asserted that the government's humiliating defeats in recent elections were a direct result of the opposition's efforts. He noted that by clarifying issues for the public, the opposition has exposed the government's inconsistent policies and its neglect of the citizenry.
Fayaz further stated that the Maldives' opposition is working responsibly to hold the government accountable. He noted that they are also taking to the streets when necessary to restore order in the country, adding that all opposition factions are working together in a unified effort.
The humiliating defeat suffered by President Muizzu’s administration in the most recent elections is a direct result of the opposition’s efforts since the beginning of this term. This outcome was achieved because the opposition successfully clarified key issues for the public. Through these efforts, citizens came to realize that the government’s policies are inconsistent and that President Muizzu’s administration has neglected the Maldivian people. The result of raising this public awareness was a clear vote against the government at the polls. Consequently, the nation's opposition is fulfilling its responsibility to hold the government accountable. When it becomes necessary to take to the streets, they do so.
