President Muizzu has failed to fulfill any of the promises made to Kelaa so far: ex-MP Shareef
Former Member of Parliament Shareef has criticized President Muizzu for failing to fulfill his pledges to the Kelaa constituency, noting that development projects in the region have come to a standstill. Highlighting that essential works on the health center, harbor, and roads remain stalled—with the exception of a school building—Shareef expressed a lack of confidence in the current administration's commitment to completing these initiatives. Furthermore, he voiced concern over the failure to commence physical work on several projects despite their inclusion in the state budget.

Former Member of Parliament for the Kelaa constituency, Ibrahim Shareef, has stated that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has yet to fulfill any of the pledges made to the residents of HA. Kelaa.
Speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Vaudhunaama" program, Shareef stated that President Muizzu made numerous pledges to the people of Haa Alif Atoll during his presidential campaign, raising significant public expectations. However, he noted that the situation has shifted entirely since the President assumed office.
Referring to HA. Kelaa, Shareef stated that President Muizzu has failed to fulfill any of his pledges, noting that all development projects have come to a standstill, with the exception of the school construction project. He further highlighted that development initiatives launched during former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s administration have also been halted.
In reality, none of the promises Dr. Muizzu made to this constituency during his presidential campaign have been fulfilled yet. While some projects initiated by the previous administration have seen minor progress or completion—most notably the three-story building at Kelaa School, which I mention with pride—all other projects remain at a standstill. I note with deep regret that although the 19th Parliament included funding in the budget for ongoing projects across the islands of this constituency, these initiatives have seen no progress for two and a half to three years. The construction of the new health center and the project to deepen the harbor, install revetments, and widen the channel have shown no movement at all. As I mentioned, even projects that had already commenced have stalled. The Fenaka office remains exactly as it was, and the road construction project has also come to a halt. None of these essential works are currently moving forward.Ibrahim Shareef, the former Member of Parliament for the Kelaa constituency.
Furthermore, Shareef stated that he has no expectation of any projects being implemented under the current administration. He added that even though projects are included in the budget, the public remains in the dark regarding their progress.
