Nasheed travels to India to attend the Indian Ocean Dialogue
Former President Mohamed Nasheed is scheduled to travel to New Delhi to participate in the 10th Indian Ocean Dialogue, held from December 7 to 8, where he will deliver remarks on maritime security, the blue economy, and disaster risk management. During the visit, Nasheed is also expected to meet with senior Indian government officials to discuss the Maldives' strategic role in maintaining stability and cooperation within the Indian Ocean region.

Former President Mohamed Nasheed has stated that he is scheduled to participate in the 10th Indian Ocean Dialogue (IOD) in New Delhi, India, where he intends to engage in high-level discussions of strategic importance to the Maldives.
Nasheed has shared on X that he is scheduled to visit New Delhi, India, from May 6th to 8th.
Sharing details of the trip, he stated that he is traveling to New Delhi to participate in the 10th Indian Ocean Dialogue (IOD). The event, organized by the Indian Ocean Rim Association, is scheduled to take place from the 7th to the 8th of this month.
Nasheed stated that this platform will facilitate discussions on maritime safety and security, the blue economy, disaster risk management, investment, economic activity, science and technology, and women's empowerment.
Furthermore, it was noted that he is scheduled to speak on the topic of disaster risk management. In his remarks, he will highlight the Maldives' potential to play a pivotal role in the Indian Ocean region, as well as the emerging economic and trade opportunities available. He also stated that he is scheduled to meet with senior officials of the Indian government during this visit.
