Police: No major security incidents reported in connection with the election
The Maldives Police Service has commended the public for their full cooperation during the special security operation conducted for the three elections held on Saturday. Authorities confirmed that the electoral proceedings concluded peacefully without any major security incidents, further noting that no individuals remain in custody in connection with the elections.

The Maldives Police Service has stated that no major security incidents were reported in connection with the election.
Local council elections, Women's Development Committee elections, and a referendum were held on Saturday.
As the Maldives conducted three simultaneous elections for the first time in a single day, the police launched a nationwide special operation. To ensure safety and security throughout the electoral process, officers were also stationed to patrol the vicinity of polling stations.
Regarding these efforts, the police stated that they received full cooperation from the residents of Malé and the atolls during Saturday's Local Council Elections, Women's Development Committee Elections, and the referendum. The police further noted that the public's adherence to their instructions during the voting process was a significant contribution toward maintaining election security and ensuring that all proceedings were conducted smoothly.
Furthermore, police stated that no major security incidents were reported during the election process. They also confirmed that no individuals taken into custody in connection with election-related matters remain in detention.
