Former Vice President Faisal Naseem has stated that the Maldivian people have spoken with great responsibility after the government veered off course.

He made these remarks in a post on X regarding the results achieved by the MDP in the Local Council and Women's Development Committee elections, as well as the recent referendum. Faisal further noted that the Maldivian people have expressed their will with great responsibility.

He further stated that today's election victory was a result of the exemplary efforts of the MDP leadership, who remained united and overcame numerous challenges. Faisal also expressed his satisfaction with the outcome, noting that the election was won despite the government's extensive efforts to influence the results.
