Speaking at Sunday's parliamentary sitting, the member stated that the issue of undocumented migration was a significant challenge facing the nation when President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu assumed office.

Falah’s remarks come as Maldives Immigration continues to investigate numerous cases involving undocumented migrants. As part of these ongoing efforts, the agency issued a public notice on Sunday seeking several expatriates who have absconded from their workplaces.
Furthermore, Maldives Immigration has stated that undocumented expatriates are being apprehended on a near-daily basis. Highlighting the significant number of foreign workers residing in the country without valid permits, with expired visas, or lacking proper identification, the Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology recently launched a major regularization program to bring these individuals into legal compliance.
The Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology has announced that a "Mass Legalization Program" will be conducted under "Operation Kurangi." The program is scheduled to run from January 1, 2026, to April 2, 2026.
