Applications open for observers and monitors for Council and WDC by-elections
Political parties, non-governmental organizations, media outlets, and independent individuals interested in observing and monitoring the upcoming election have until the 28th of this month to submit their applications. The Elections Commission has specified that individuals applying independently or representing NGOs must not hold membership in any political party.

Applications have been opened for those interested in serving as observers and monitors for the upcoming Local Council and Women's Development Committee elections.
Opportunities are now open for political parties, private individuals, NGOs, and media outlets to apply as observers and monitors for the election's voting and counting processes. The deadline for submitting applications is 15:00 on Saturday, February 28.
The Elections Commission has stated that individuals or organizations submitting proposals must not have any registered membership with a political party.
Political parties are required to submit their requests through the "Simedha Portal."
Media outlets may nominate monitors up to the total number of established ballot boxes. Submissions must include the personal details of the designated monitors, along with the media outlet's registration and licensing documentation.
A total of 621 ballot boxes are scheduled to be stationed for the election.
Political parties and non-governmental organizations may nominate monitors up to a limit not exceeding 10 percent of the total number of ballot boxes. This equates to a maximum of 683 monitors.
