The door-to-door campaign event conducted by the MDP in the Hulhumalé North constituency on Friday afternoon received a warm reception from local residents.
Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih also participated in the campaign event, spending time with MDP candidates and members of the general public.

In addition to Mayor Adam Azim, the event was attended by Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) candidates contesting in the upcoming Local Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) elections. Among those who actively participated and engaged with the public were Fathimath Zahiyya, the candidate for the Hulhumale North constituency seat on the City Council; Aishath Reesha, who is running for the presidency of the Women's Development Committee; and Fathimath Siba, the candidate for the constituency's WDC membership.
Speaking to RaajjeMV during the event, Mayor Adam Azim highlighted that the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has failed to adequately manage municipal services in Hulhumalé. He further emphasized the importance of transferring the responsibility of Hulhumalé's municipal affairs to the City Council.

By law, citizens must always remain under the jurisdiction of a council. This structure exists because a council is best positioned to manage public affairs at a grassroots level. Unlike a corporation, a council does not operate for commercial profit; a company will always prioritize its own financial interests. Bringing the municipal services of Hulhumalé under the City Council is a vital step. These services can only be effectively managed by a body elected by the people and directly accountable to them.Adam Azim, the Mayor of Male' City Council
