Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has conducted a door-to-door campaign alongside MDP candidates contesting the upcoming Local Council and Women's Development Committee elections for Sh. Foakaidhoo.

On Sunday morning, he visited households in Foakaidhoo alongside five MDP council candidates and five candidates contesting for the Women's Development Committee. During the event, he campaigned for the candidates and highlighted the reasons for electing MDP representatives.

In this regard, he highlighted the importance of maintaining an MDP-led council to continue the development currently being brought to the island. He further emphasized the need for a council that will hold the central government accountable and advocate on behalf of the people.

During his door-to-door visits, residents assured him of their commitment to vote for the MDP candidates. The primary grievances raised by the public centered on the stagnation of island development and the halt of economic activities following the change in administration. Furthermore, residents expressed concerns over a renewed sense of marginalization and a perceived lack of attention from the government.

The former President is undertaking this visit at the official invitation of the Foakaidhoo Island Council. During the trip, he inaugurated a newly developed volleyball court initiated by the council. Additionally, the former President opened the "Noo Bahaaru Jagaha," a campaign hub designated for the upcoming local council elections. He also presided as the guest of honor at a major rally held under the slogan "Heyvalla Thayyaaru, Noo Bahaarakah Sh. Foakaidhoo".
