PNC leadership, known for deceiving the public and failing to fulfil pledges, arrives in Kulhudhuffushi
A high-level government delegation arriving in Kulhudhuffushi City for a PNC campaign rally has faced intense public criticism over unfulfilled developmental promises. Amid allegations of undue electoral influence, the public remains deeply concerned over the lack of progress on previous government pledges.

A high-level delegation from the leadership of the main ruling party, the People's National Congress (PNC), arrived in Kulhudhuffushi City today to officially launch the campaign for the Local Council Elections scheduled for April 4th this year.
Attendees at the special gathering scheduled for tonight include the Parliamentary Group Leader of the PNC and Member of Parliament for the Inguraidhoo constituency, Ibrahim Falah, along with several cabinet ministers and heads of state institutions.
However, this visit has been met with widespread discontent from the residents of Kulhudhuffushi. Many have characterized the move as an attempt to "fool" the public, pointing out that none of the numerous development pledges made to the island have been fulfilled. Critics argue that returning to seek votes ahead of another election, while remaining indifferent to the actual living conditions of the people, is unacceptable.
Senior government officials are boarding vessels and pleading for support, not out of a sincere commitment to island development, but solely for political gain. This behavior is a clear attempt to deceive the public—a political stunt orchestrated as elections approach, following a failure to properly execute any meaningful projects.
While the government is expected to unveil a series of new pledges aimed at the upcoming local council elections during tonight’s rally, the public remains disillusioned, questioning the fate of previous promises. Furthermore, these actions are being viewed as a calculated attempt to exert undue influence over the electoral process.
Furthermore, the PNC has announced that following tonight's rally in Kulhuduffushi, the party's leadership is scheduled to hold a special gathering in Addu City to officially launch its campaign.
