Covid-19 victim, Aminath Adam’s death report will be completed next week.
Covid-19 taskforce’s spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Aziz revealed this during Sunday night’s press conference at the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC).
However, he said that he cannot give an exact date on this but that they expect it to be completed early next week.
Aminath Adam, 83, was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital last Wednesday. While she was rushed to the hospital following complaints of breathing difficulties, her Covid-19 test results came back after her death. Authorities have been accused of negligence in the case.
Mabrook previously confirmed that an investigation has been launched into the negligence claims.
The building in which Aminath was residing had been under monitoring since April 21, and Aminath had been identified as a direct contact of a confirmed Covid-19 case on April 25. However, her samples were taken for testing three days later, despite being at high risk of infection due to her age as well as other health conditions.
