Maldives Police have reported that the tests done locally to investigate the death of Gasim and Razeena, did not reveal anything unusual.

Police have stated that the samples taken from the bodies of the couple found dead in their bedroom on January 8, 2017 will be sent abroad for further analysis of the cause of the death.

Gasim Shahid 50, and his wife Razeena Ibrahim 40, were found dead in their bedroom of the fifth-floor apartment in Maafannu Light Signal house in Capital Male’.

Police had expressed desire to conduct a postmortem, however the family turned down the request saying that the couple’s death points towards natural causes.

No visible signs of injuries were found on their body.

Police Media reported that analysis done in Maldives showed no evidence of foul play.

Gasim and Razeena who were both originally from Thaa Atoll Vilufushi island are survived by three children; two boys and a girl.

The couple were buried in the same grave, rarely allowed in Maldives.
