ACC reports 15 percent increase in filed cases

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has reported that last year 15 percent more cases were filed in the Commission.

ACC said at the end of 2015, 832 cases were filed with ACC. This figure increased to 958 in 2016, an increase of 15 percent.

The Commission reviewed all the cases submitted to the Commission and had passed to further investigate 764 cases in 2016. In 2015, the Commission passed to review 611 cases. ACC had forwarded 63 cases that did not fit their mandate to the relevant state bodies for further investigation. Last year this figure was at 47. In 2015, the Commission passed not to investigate 137 cases due to lack of information. In 2016, the number had risen to 148.
