The Maldives men’s national volleyball team lost to Réunion Island on Tuesday, at the ongoing Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG) 2019.
Réunion Island took the match in three sets to one.
While both teams showed a strong performance during Tuesday’s game, Réunion Island took the first two sets, 25-22 and 25-21.
The Maldives team took the third set with a 25 -22 score.
While Maldives’ team showed a poor performance in the fourth and last set, Réunion ended up winning the match after taking this set with a 25-18 score.
This is the men’s team second match at IOIG 2019, they lost the first match held against Madagascar on July 21.
However, the team won its second match against Comoros two days later, in three straight sets.
The men’s national volleyball had the opportunity to train in Serbia, at one of the finest facilities in the world with Europe’s top coaches, ahead of this year's games.
