Maldives rises up five ranks on FIFA global ranking

Maldives at 140th position

Maldivian national football team has risen five ranks in the FIFA World Ranking.

Maldives is now at the 140th position, but still remained second in the SAARC region. India still claimed the first spot in the SAARC region. India was ranked 130th this year, having fallen one spot from the previous year’s ranking.

Nepal claimed 173rd in rankings, having risen two spots in the table. With this, Nepal is the third nation in the SAARC region. Bhutan came in fourth in the region, having claimed 177th in the ranking. Bangladesh came in 190th. Sri Lanka is at the seventh for the SAARC region, having been placed 196th global rankings. Pakistan came in last for the region and is placed at 198th by FIFA.

Argentina is number one on the global rankings, followed by Brazil and Germany in second and third places respectively.
