Captain of the national cricket team to head to Malaysia!
Hassan's first match with Penang will be a qualifying match
This is the first time a Maldivian cricket player has been given the chance to play for a foreign team

Hassan Ibrahim, captain of the Maldives National Cricket team has been given the opportunity to play for a Malaysian team.

Hassan has been given the chance to play for Penang state, and has been asked to join them for the first round of the competition, which will last for two months.

According to the Cricket Board, he was given the opportunity after the Malaysian teams saw how skillful he is on the field, during the friendly matches between the Maldivian and Malaysian national cricket teams, recently.

The Maldives national team was invited, by the president of the Malaysian Cricket Board, to play friendly matches with the Malaysian team, and was in Malaysia from December 29, 2016 to January 10. They played a total of seven matches.

Hassan is to travel to Malaysia and join the team within the next week, and his first match with Penang will be a qualifying match for the Malaysian Premier League.

This is the first time, that a Maldivian cricket player has been given the opportunity to play for a foreign team.

Football icon, Ali “Dhagandey” Ashfaq recently returned to the Maldives, after playing for Malaysian team PDRM FC.
