Maldives has finalised its team for the under-23 AFC Championship qualification, which serves as the first stage of AFC qualifiers.
While only 16 teams will qualify, Maldives will play three matches in late March; against Saudi Arabia on 22nd March, against the United Arab Emirates on 23rd March, and against Lebanon on 24th March.
The selected squad includes players are Ibrahim ‘Ibbe’ Atheeg, Azzam ‘Eddu’ Abdulla, Hassan ‘Hanna’ Raif, Abdulla Yameen, Riham ‘Bobee’ Abdu-Ghanee, Mohamed Saadh Nizar, Mohamed Niyaaz, Mohamed Sinah, Ali Najih, Shaif Ibrahim, Majudhaan Solih, Abdulla ‘Yaan’ Yameen, Nashaah ‘Nattu’ Ahmed, Ibrahim Aisam, Ali Hamdhaan, Ali Shamaal Abdulla, Mohamed ‘Farukko’ Faruhaan, Haisham Hassan, Hassan ‘Choatu’ Nazeem, Hussain Shareef, Mohamed ‘Ogi’ Jailam, Mohamed Shahaau, Nisham ‘Pogba’ Rasheed, and Ali Hamdhaan.
The national under-23 team is currently at a training camp in the Philippines.
Three players with injuries have been left off the squad.
