Two arrested in Maduvvari for large-scale drug trafficking

Two individuals have been arrested in R. Maduvvari on suspicion of operating a large-scale drug trafficking business.
In a press release issued on Monday, the police stated that the suspects were apprehended on August 28 during a joint operation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Department, Maduvvari Police Station, and Counter-Narcotics Intelligence.
During the operation, police searched seven houses in Maduvvari and took seven individuals into custody. All but two of those detained have since been released.
The suspects arrested in connection with this case have been identified as 27-year-old Mohamed Muizzu and 29-year-old Adam Asim, both natives of Maduvvari. Upon being produced before the court to determine their detention status, the court ordered Muizzu to be remanded for ten days and Asim for seven days.
Police stated that the drugs seized during the operation had a preliminary weight of 53.05 grams. The authorities are currently conducting a further investigation into the matter.
