Woman dies following a gas cylinder leak at a residence in Malé

Police have identified the victim of the incident as 51-year-old Zahida Thaufeeq, registered under Malé Dhafthar No. RS 6210, who passed away while undergoing treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

A woman has passed away following a gas leak incident that occurred on Thursday at a residence in Dilkushaa Goalhi, Maafannu district of Malé.

Police have identified the deceased in the incident as 51-year-old Zahida Thaufeeq, a resident of Malé registered under Registry No. RS 6210. According to the police, she passed away while undergoing treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

Police informed the media that the incident was reported to them at 10:34 a.m. on August 27. In addition to the individual who passed away in the incident, a 19-year-old woman is currently receiving treatment at ADK Hospital.

Police have stated that the matter is currently under investigation.
