The newly appointed Non-Resident Ambassador of Burkina Faso to the Republic of Maldives, Dr Désiré Boniface Some, presented his credentials to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Thursday. The ceremony took place on Thursday morning at the President's Office.
The Ambassador arrived at the ceremony in an official procession, escorted under the ceremonial royal umbrella. The arrival was marked by full military honors, featuring a performance by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) brass band and a traditional ceremonial guard.
The President accepted the credentials of the Ambassador and welcomed him to the Maldives.
Following the ceremony, the President and the Ambassador engaged in discussions on key areas of mutual interest. These included collaborative efforts in development, tourism, infrastructure, and the fisheries sector. In concluding the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the bilateral relations between the two nations.
Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Burkina Faso were established on December 29, 2011.
