The newly appointed Ambassador of Slovenia to the Maldives, Tomaž Mencin, presented his credentials to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Wednesday morning. The ceremony took place at the President's Office.
The Ambassador arrived at the ceremony in an official procession, escorted under the ceremonial royal umbrella. The arrival was marked by full military honors, featuring a performance by the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) brass band and a traditional ceremonial guard.
Upon the presentation of credentials by the new Ambassador of Slovenia, the President extended his congratulations and welcomed the Ambassador to the Maldives.
Following the ceremony, the President met with the new Ambassador. During the meeting, the two leaders discussed key priority areas for both nations, including tourism, climate change, environmental protection, and sustainable development. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Slovenia were established on March 4, 1996.
