New Qatari Ambassador presents credentials to the President

The newly appointed Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Maldives, Hamad Mohammed Abdullah Al-Sanad Al-Dosari, presented his credentials to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Wednesday. The ceremony took place on Wednesday morning at the President's Office.
The Ambassador arrived at the ceremony in a formal procession, escorted by a military guard of honor from the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF). The arrival was marked by traditional ceremonial honors, accompanied by the rhythmic sounds of the MNDF’s brass and drum band.
Upon the presentation of credentials by the new Ambassador of Qatar, the President extended his congratulations and welcomed the Ambassador to the Maldives.
Following the ceremony, the President met with the new Ambassador to discuss areas of mutual interest, including cooperation in the economic and tourism sectors, infrastructure development, financial assistance, and investment opportunities. During the meeting, the President reflected on his recent visit to Qatar, highlighting the close and fraternal ties between the two nations. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening these relations and enhancing bilateral cooperation.
Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Qatar were officially established on May 26, 1984.
