The non-resident Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Maldives, Shalar Geldynazarov, presented his credentials to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Thursday. The ceremony took place on Thursday morning at the President's Office.
The Ambassador of Turkmenistan was escorted to the ceremony in a formal procession, accompanied by a military guard of honor and the ceremonial brass band of the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), under the traditional royal umbrella.
The President accepted his letter of credence and formally welcomed him to the country.
Following the credential presentation ceremony, the President and the Ambassador discussed strengthening bilateral ties in areas of mutual interest and benefit. Key topics included expanding economic cooperation, exploring investment opportunities, and enhancing collaboration within the transport sector.
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Maldives and Turkmenistan were formally established on September 25, 1992.
