Fathimath Ameeza appointed as MIRA's Commissioner General of Taxation
With over 16 years of service at the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA), Fathimath Ameeza has held several key leadership roles within the Enforcement Division in addition to serving as the Deputy Commissioner General of Taxation. A Master’s degree holder in Accounting, Ameeza has played a pivotal role in reforming tax policies and spearheading strategic initiatives to enhance state revenue collection.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Fathimath Ameeza, of Cozy Round, Gdh. Gadhdhoo, as the Commissioner General of Taxation at the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA).

Fathimath Ameeza, appointed by the President as the Commissioner General of Taxation at the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA), has served the institution with distinction for over 16 years. Having previously held the position of Deputy Commissioner General, Ameeza has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to reforming tax policies, strengthening institutional governance, and enhancing revenue collection across the authority.
Throughout her extensive tenure, Fathimath Ameeza has elevated the recovery of outstanding tax and non-tax revenue to the highest standards. Serving as the head of the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority’s Enforcement Division, she achieved these results through the strategic implementation of data analytics and evidence-based policies.
Fathimath Ameeza holds a Master of Science in Accounting from the International Islamic University Malaysia and a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University.
