Entrusting Abdul Raheem with Leadership Is Like Giving Dracula a Blood Bank: Asif
PNF Senator Adam Azif has strongly criticized the government, asserting that the PNC's rise to power is the primary reason for the country's deteriorating condition. Referencing the past of Speaker of Parliament Abdul Raheem Abdulla, Azif stated that entrusting national authority to such an individual would inevitably shatter the hopes and aspirations of the people.

People’s National Front (PNF) Senator and legal counsel Adam Asif has launched a scathing attack on the government, likening the decision to entrust the nation’s leadership to the People’s National Congress (PNC)—a party spearheaded by Parliament Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla—to the peril of "handing over a blood bank to Dracula."
Speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Fala Surukhee" program last night, Asif stated that the primary reason for the country’s current state is the People’s National Congress (PNC) coming to power. He noted that since the PNC was founded under the leadership of Abdul Raheem, the moment all powers were consolidated within the party, the public's hopes for the nation were completely shattered.
Referring to Abdul Raheem’s past, Asif stated that he is no stranger to the Maldivian people. He noted that there are still individuals today who remember the circumstances and events surrounding his previous banishment to an island as punishment for a crime. Asif argued that people with such a history should never be entrusted with the absolute discretion to manage the nation’s treasury.
The governance of this nation has now been entrusted to Abdul Raheem. There is no one in the Maldives who does not know who he is. Handing the leadership of a country to Abdul Raheem is akin to putting Dracula in charge of a blood bank. Those who know, are well aware of why he was once exiled to an island and the nature of his actions during that time. Should the national treasury be handed over to individuals with such a history? While dollars are flowing into the country in abundance, there will be nothing left once these people have had their fill.Adam Asif
Under the administration of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Abdul Raheem Abdulla has emerged as one of the most politically influential figures in the country.
