It has been revealed that no progress has been made on the HA. Muraidhoo harbor project under the current administration, despite 75 percent of the work already being completed.
Naushad Ibrahim, the MDP National Congress President for the Baarah constituency, expressed concern over the stagnation of development in Haa Alif Atoll during an appearance on RaajjeTV’s "Vaudhunaama" program.
Referring to Muraidhoo, Naushad stated that 75 percent of the island's harbor project had been completed during former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's administration. He noted that while the residents are eager for the project's completion to facilitate easier travel and docking, the current administration has yet to carry out any work on the project. Naushad further expressed concern over the lack of progress on the harbor development, noting that despite raising the issue, the government has failed to provide any response, leaving the project's status uncertain.
Furthermore, Naushad stated that although the issue regarding the stalled harbor project was brought to the attention of the Member of Parliament, no response has been received.
Looking at Muraidhoo, the most pressing demand from the island's residents today is the completion of the harbor project. By the end of our administration, approximately 75 percent of the harbor work had been finished. However, it remains exactly as it was left. No progress is being made today. There is no contractor on-site, no materials available, and no workforce present to carry out the work.Naushad Ibrahim, President of the MDP National Congress's Baarah Constituency.
The Muraidhoo harbor project was awarded to MTCC during the previous administration for 36.3 million Rufiyaa.
