The Cabinet has decided to implement special measures aimed at strengthening public service delivery and ensuring that government projects are completed within their designated deadlines.
These measures were established during a Cabinet meeting held on Sunday, June 28, 2026.
In this regard, the Cabinet has mandated that the "Dhuveli" portal—used to coordinate all government projects and activities—and the "Public Investment Management System (PIMS)" portal, developed by the Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises, be fully updated by the end of this week. Furthermore, the Cabinet decided that these platforms must be maintained with real-time updates moving forward.
Furthermore, the Cabinet has decided to establish a dedicated team within the Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises to identify and resolve day-to-day challenges faced by various ministries and state-owned enterprises in executing government projects. Additionally, a specialized unit will be set up within each ministry to oversee the daily coordination of these projects.
Furthermore, a decision has been made to undertake specialized efforts in coordination with the Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises, as well as the contracted companies, to ensure that projects under the Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing, and Urban Development are completed by their designated deadlines.
Furthermore, during Sunday's cabinet meeting, it was decided to prioritize all necessary efforts to establish and launch the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) network nationwide by the end of January 2027.
Furthermore, in light of past hazardous incidents involving chemical storage facilities, the Cabinet has decided that, similar to the regulations in Malé, permits for developing such facilities in the atolls will only be granted for designated safe zones located away from residential areas.
