Development of HA. Filladhoo and Vashafaru at a complete standstill under current administration: ex-MP Shareef
Former Kelaa MP Ibrahim Shareef has sharply criticized President Muizzu’s administration, alleging a failure to fulfill major development pledges made to Haa Alif Atoll. Shareef highlighted that several projects initiated and budgeted by the previous government—including the Filladhoo School hall, road construction, and coastal protection in Vashafaru—have come to a complete standstill. He further noted that the suspension of these vital infrastructure projects is causing significant hardship for residents, expressing skepticism that the current administration has any intention of completing them.

Former Member of Parliament for the Kelaa constituency, Ibrahim Shareef, has stated that development projects in HA. Filladhoo and Vashafaru have come to a complete standstill under President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s administration.
Speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Vaudhunaama" program, Shareef severely criticized the current administration. He stated that while President Muizzu had made grand promises to the entire Haa Alif Atoll, not a single project has been successfully implemented to date.
Referring to HA. Filladhoo, Shareef stated that projects initiated during former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's administration are not being continued under the current government.
In this regard, he expressed concern over the stalled construction of the multipurpose hall at HA. Filladhoo School, as well as the suspension of road development projects on the island.
Furthermore, Shareef stated that all development projects in Vashafaru have come to a complete standstill.
We had already decided to reclaim the land and construct a seawall to protect the eroding areas of Vashafaru. However, that work has yet to commence. None of the projects we had budgeted for or planned during the 19th Majlis have seen any progress or been initiated.Ibrahim Shareef, the former Member of Parliament for the Kelaa constituency.
Shareef stated that the suspension of development projects has caused significant hardship for the public today. However, he expressed that there is no hope of these projects moving forward under the current administration.
