Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital’s standards are declining under this administration, with no new services introduced to date: Saneef
Former Member of Parliament Saneef has expressed grave concern over the declining quality of services at Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital in Thinadhoo City, alleging that the previous administration's efforts to upgrade the facility to tertiary standards have come to a standstill. He clarified that despite the current government's claims of introducing CT scan services as a new initiative, the service had already been established under the previous administration. Saneef further criticized the government's lack of sincerity in addressing the hospital's condition, stating that this negligence is resulting in significant hardship for the local community.

Former Member of Parliament for the Thinadhoo South constituency, Abdulla Saneef, has stated that the quality of services at Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital in Thinadhoo City has been declining under President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s administration, noting that no new services have been introduced to date.
Speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Vaudhunaama" program, Saneef stated that significant efforts were made during former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s administration to enhance healthcare services in Thinadhoo, including the introduction of new services. He further noted that work was undertaken to expand the hospital's capacity and develop it to tertiary standards.
However, Saneef stated that following the change in administration, work at the hospital has come to a standstill, with no new services being introduced. He further noted that the standard of care at Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital is deteriorating day by day.
Referring to the CT scan services at Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital, which the current administration claims to have initiated, Saneef stated that the service was actually launched during the previous government and is not a new development. He noted, however, that the service had been temporarily suspended due to a technical issue.
Under the previous administration, two modern wings were constructed at the Thinadhoo hospital, and the necessary facilities were fully equipped. However, the government's term ended just as work was set to begin on the older hospital building. Following the change in administration, the hospital's condition has steadily deteriorated. Despite this, the current government claimed to have introduced CT scan services late last year or early this year. I would like to state for the record that I was personally involved when the CT scan machine was first brought to Thinadhoo and the service was inaugurated during the previous administration.Abdulla Saneef, former Member of Parliament for the Thinadhoo South constituency.
Saneef stated that there is no sincerity in the government's claims regarding the upgrading of Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital. He noted that despite the administration being in power for over two years, the public continues to suffer significantly due to the lack of access to adequate healthcare services.
