Eid al-Adha revives spirit of forgiveness; Islamic values must guide celebrations: President
In his message on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu highlighted the significance of the day in demonstrating the unity and compassion of the Muslim Ummah. While urging the public to uphold Islamic principles and Maldivian traditions during the festivities, the President emphasized the importance of strengthening family ties and caring for the vulnerable and lonely within the community. President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that Eid al-Adha is a season that revitalizes hearts with the refreshing breeze of forgiveness.
In his message on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, the President extended his warmest greetings and best wishes to all beloved citizens of the Maldives, including the brothers and sisters currently performing the sacred pilgrimage of Hajj.
The President stated that Eid al-Adha serves as an enduring example of compassion that unites the entire Muslim Ummah, embedded with profound lessons and divine wisdom from Allah. He further highlighted that from the equality witnessed on the sacred plains of Arafat to the joy that spreads in every direction, this occasion stands as one of the most radiant symbols of human kindness.
He emphasized that this Eid serves as a reminder to instill noble moral values in the younger generation and to find personal joy in bringing smiles to the vulnerable and lonely within our society. He further stated that the sacred bond of unity fostered by this occasion is a powerful force for maintaining peace and stability throughout the nation. In his address, the President urged the public to uphold Islamic principles while celebrating the festivities of Eid and to refrain from practices that are foreign to the cherished customs and traditions of Maldivians.
The President also offered prayers, expressing his hope that the blessed days of Eid would continue to bring joy and prosperity to the nation. He further prayed for the enduring safety and security of the beloved Maldivian people and the entire Islamic Ummah.
In his Eid message, the President extended his warmest greetings and well-wishes to the beloved citizens of the Maldives.
