President Muizzu needs to improve only one thing, and that is to speak the truth: Ziyad
MP Ziyad has strongly criticized the government's policies, asserting that the recent changes to state-owned enterprises and the cabinet lack sincere intent. He argued that appointing individuals facing corruption allegations while removing those who deliver results does not constitute genuine reform, but is rather an attempt to deceive the public. Consequently, Ziyad called on the President to be transparent and truthful in order to effectively improve the country's governance system.

Member of Parliament for the Vaikaradhoo constituency, Hussain Ziyad, has stated that there is only one specific matter President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu needs to rectify, and that addressing this single issue would lead to the improvement of the entire state.
Speaking on a RaajjeTV program, Ziyad stated that the single most important thing the President needs to rectify is to speak the truth. He emphasized that positive outcomes can only be achieved if the foundation is sound. However, he argued that this administration’s beginning was flawed, noting that this is evident when looking at the path taken to assume power. Ziyad further remarked that once a single lie is told, a thousand more must follow to cover it up.
Criticizing the recent changes within state-owned enterprises, Ziyad noted that although former STELCO Managing Director Fahmy was transferred to the position of Principal Secretary at the President's Office due to management failures, he was appointed as the Managing Director of MWSC within a week. He asserted that this does not constitute a reformative change, adding that simply shuffling individuals between positions does not lead to actual improvement.
Therefore, change for the sake of change is not progress. We must strive for meaningful change. We have already outlined these positive reforms in writing to assist the President. The question is, will he implement them? I believe that only a sound foundation can yield a positive outcome. There is no sincerity in his current approach; it is merely a strategy to subjugate the Parliament and deceive the public. However, half of the population has now made it clear that they see through these tactics. Even if he attempts to prolong this until people forget over the next two years, the public will remain vigilant. They are watching closely. The best course of action is to fix just one thing. There is one specific thing President Muizzu can do right now that would rectify the entire state of affairs: speak the truth. If he does that, everything else will fall into place. But he will not do it.Hussain Ziyad, the Member of Parliament for the Vaikaradhoo constituency.
Furthermore, Ziyad stated that the appointment of Heena Waleed to a ministerial position—despite allegations that she utilized 35 million Rufiyaa from NSPA to establish a TV station—clearly demonstrates the government's true intentions. He added that speaking out against corruption via a television network allegedly founded on corrupt funds would never be justifiable.
Ziyad further stated that President Muizzu is attempting to deceive the public by exerting undue influence over the Parliament. However, he noted that the citizens remain highly vigilant today and are well aware of the government's "tricks." Ziyad added that despite any efforts based on the assumption that the public will forget these actions within two years, such attempts are destined to fail.
Even if you perform Umrah every week, there has been no integrity in the actions taken to date. First, one must ask: where is the pulse? The pulse beats from the heart, yet the treatment is being applied to the joints. Who else but Ihusan is standing here to be removed? Yet Ihusan remains exactly where he was. Instead, it was the Health Minister who was ousted. It is possible that the loss of the Hinnavaru seats played a role; that is precisely how the ministerial position was lost. As for the former Cities Minister, Adam Shareef, there was simply no way to keep him, as he contests for every available position. Consequently, Adam Shareef has been sidelined.Hussain Ziyad, the Member of Parliament for the Vaikaradhoo constituency.
Commenting on the recent cabinet reshuffle, Ziyad suggested that the Health Minister was replaced potentially due to the loss of the Hinnavaru seats. Ziyad further alleged that Adam Shareef Umar was removed from his position as Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works because he is a hardworking, results-oriented individual who contests every election, leading to fears surrounding his political influence.
Ziyad stated that the government’s proposed reforms lack any sincere intent. He emphasized that regardless of how frequently President Muizzu performs Umrah, his actions thus far fail to demonstrate a genuine commitment to good governance. He reiterated that the only way to reform the entire system is through honesty and speaking the truth.
