Hassan Rasheed appointed as Minister of Defence
In a ceremony held at the President's Office, Supreme Court Justice Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim administered the oath of office to the new members of the Cabinet, which included the appointment of Hassan Rasheed as the Minister of Defence and National Service.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Hassan Rasheed as the Minister of Defence and National Service.
The ceremony to present the Minister with his letter of appointment was held early Wednesday evening at the President's Office.
Supreme Court Justice Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim administered the oath of office during the ceremony. Following the swearing-in, the Minister proceeded to sign the official oath of the Cabinet of Ministers.
Furthermore, Ahmed Shiyam was appointed as the Minister of Fisheries, Agriculture and Ocean Resources on Wednesday.
According to reports, Hassan Rasheed previously served as a State Minister at the Ministry of Housing. In that role, he was reportedly responsible for overseeing the operations of the ministry's corporate department.
