Extent of public's lack of trust in this administration was evident, even after they exhausted state treasury on their campaign: Bondaa
Former Member of Parliament Ibrahim Rasheed stated that despite significant public spending ahead of the elections, it is evident the government has lost the people's trust. He further noted that the administration only began implementing cost-cutting measures—amidst the heavy indebtedness of state-owned enterprises—after realizing its public support had diminished.

Former Member of Parliament for the Central Maafannu constituency, Ibrahim Rasheed (Bondaa), has stated that despite the government depleting the state treasury for its campaign, the election results clearly demonstrate the public's lack of confidence in the current administration.
Speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Fala Surukhee" program, Rasheed stated that the government began implementing austerity measures only after the elections concluded, suggesting that these actions were initiated once it became evident that the administration no longer commanded public support.
Furthermore, Rasheed noted that while the government believed the PNC could secure seats in certain constituencies by depleting the state treasury to buy influence, the actual outcome proved otherwise.
Votes can no longer be bought; even when money is distributed, it does not guarantee a vote. Controlling state-owned enterprises does not secure victory either. The public has delivered a resounding rejection—a "no" even more definitive than the one given to the parliamentary system. It is only natural that these companies are now speaking of cost-cutting measures.Ibrahim Rasheed (Bondaa), the former Member of Parliament for the Central Maafannu constituency.
Rasheed stated that numerous state-owned enterprises have fallen into debt, with some already facing bankruptcy. He further remarked that just as the public has expressed its disapproval this time, they will eventually reject the entire government as well.
Rasheed stated that the public no longer places their trust in the current administration. He further asserted that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu will no longer receive the support of the Maldivian people.
