Muizzu’s administration is a temporary government, and efforts to change it are underway: Yauqoob
Yauqoob stated that recent election results demonstrate a clear loss of public confidence in the government. Accusing the administration of wasting state funds and awarding projects to close associates without competitive bidding, he asserted that a change in government is necessary and pledged to work collectively to stop state-sponsored corruption and the pursuit of illicit gains.

Former Dhaandhoo MP Yauqoob Abdulla has characterized President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s administration as a "temporary government," asserting that all necessary efforts are underway to bring about a change in leadership.
Speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Fala Surukhee" program, Yauqoob stated that the public delivered a powerful message to the government through the results of the Local Council elections, the Women’s Development Committee elections, and the referendum held on the 4th of this month.
He stated that the results of these three elections prove this is merely a transitional administration and that the majority of citizens do not wish for President Muizzu to remain in power. He further noted that the government's failure to secure a single seat in any city clearly demonstrates that the public has had enough.
Highlighting numerous reasons why the current administration must be changed, Yauqoob stated that the state is not being governed in accordance with the will of the people. He emphasized that citizens want an end to the waste of public funds and the corruption currently taking place within the government. He further asserted that there must be transparency regarding the details of loans taken in the name of the public, as well as the processes through which projects are awarded to companies. Additionally, he noted that the practice of distributing projects to close associates without a competitive bidding process must be brought to an end.
Furthermore, Yauqoob stated that the majority of citizens rejected President Muizzu in the midterm elections, adding that the public no longer holds any trust or hope in the current administration. He further noted that this serves as the primary justification for the necessity of a change in government.
To this day, the President has failed to clarify the nature of the proposed changes, whether any changes will actually be implemented, or the specific direction they intend to take. We remain completely in the dark. Take, for instance, the issues you highlighted: the printing of three billion rufiyaa and the events we witnessed last December. We saw 2.7 billion rufiyaa worth of projects funneled through the Bank of Maldives to various associates—specifically to Members of Parliament and those close to the government—distributed without any competitive bidding process. Where is that money? What happened to those funds? Which projects were completed in which islands using that capital? Over the past few months, we have covered every single island across the country. There isn't a single island that the MDP campaign team has not visited. Members of our team have reached every corner of this nation. Yet, not a single one of us has seen any evidence of work being carried out on even one island in the Maldives.Former Member of Parliament for the Dhaandhoo constituency, Yauqoob Abdulla.
Yauqoob stated that projects are being awarded to those close to the government. He further noted that while the administration seeks undue advantages from all its dealings, the public wants to put a stop to it, and everyone will work together to bring about a change in government.
