Area exceeding 253,662.6 square meters searched via diving operations alone in efforts to locate two individuals missing after a speedboat capsized in Vaavu Atoll; they remain unaccounted for
Despite extensive air, sea, and underwater search operations covering a vast area, authorities have yet to locate two Indian nationals missing after their speedboat capsized near Keyodhoo. While five of the seven individuals on board were successfully rescued following the incident, the MNDF Coast Guard continues its tireless search and rescue efforts to find the remaining two passengers.

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has reported that despite an extensive search operation covering a vast area, the two individuals missing from a speedboat traveling near V. Keyodhoo have yet to be located.
The MNDF stated that the Coast Guard has covered a vast area in its special search operation for the two missing individuals, and that efforts to locate them remain ongoing without interruption.
The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has conducted an extensive search operation for two individuals missing following an incident approximately 2 nautical miles southwest of Keyodhoo, which occurred around 00:40 on March 20. According to the MNDF, the search covered an aerial area of more than 2,544 square nautical miles, a sea surface area exceeding 269 square nautical miles, and a sub-surface dive search spanning over 253,662.6 square meters.
Furthermore, the MNDF has requested that anyone with information or sightings related to this matter report it immediately.
At the time of the incident, there were seven people on board, including two women from the United Kingdom and Russia, and five Indian nationals. Two Indian nationals remain missing following the accident. The remaining passengers were rescued from the sea. Additionally, three individuals who sustained injuries were treated at the Vaavu Atoll Hospital.
