Reports have emerged from Milandhoo regarding an incident where a soldier's uniforms were discarded on the street, reportedly stemming from a domestic dispute. Under military regulations, any act that shows disrespect toward the uniform is a serious offense punishable by severe disciplinary action. The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has not yet issued an official comment on the matter.

MNDF uniforms have been strewn across the streets of N. Miladhoo.
The incident occurred on Sunday morning.
Regarding the matter, the President of the Island Council, Abdul Majeed Mohamed, stated that they are aware of the issue involving military uniforms and other clothing items that were found discarded on the street.
He stated that while the incident is reported to be a family matter, specific details remain unknown.
These photos are currently circulating on social media. The discarded uniforms were found with their name tags still clearly visible.
The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) was unavailable for comment regarding the incident in which uniforms bearing the name "Mumthaz" were found discarded on the ground.
According to military regulations, any action that diminishes the respect and integrity of the uniform is strictly prohibited. Upon retirement or discharge from service, personnel are required to return their complete uniform kit to the military. Furthermore, soldiers are mandated to carry their uniforms with them even when traveling on leave, whether to local islands or abroad. Leaving the uniform behind is strictly forbidden under the regulations. The rules further stipulate that any conduct deemed disrespectful to the uniform will result in disciplinary action.
